My name is Banna Beraki, a student at Kingston University pursuing (MSc) innovation management and entrepreneurship. These blog posts highlight my personal development journey as well as my journey in my post graduate studies. Through the blog posts, you will learn more about me and my aspirations in life. Although the blogs will be about my personal journey, I hope to inspire and empower my readers. I am a graduate of the University of West London where I pursued a (BSc) course in events management. I chose a course in entrepreneurship for my post graduate studies as it is will give me valuable insights and expand my knowledge and understanding of businesses and how they operate. I desire to start an events business in the near future and I realise that business skills and knowledge are most important. Therefore, the innovation management and entrepreneurship course will equip me with the skills that I desire to have in order to run my aspired business successfully . It is undoubtable that we are living in a rapidly changing world where being able to adapt to changes and to grab new opportunities is crucial than ever before. Being a problem solver, a creative thinker, and a visionary is crucial.

As a creative thinker, I always desire to bring new changes and promote transformation through innovation. I realise that the events industry is a fast-growing industry where new ideas, new insights, and new perspectives must be introduced into the industry for competitive advantage. My theoretical understanding of events management is simply not enough and expanding my knowledge on how to be more innovative and visionary is necessary. From a young age, I always desired to be involved in business and also to leave this world better than I found it through new innovations. Moreover, it has always been my values in life that ‘we can attain everything in life if only we have an interest and are determined to put real action into what we set our minds to’. In this regard, following my passion in events, I strongly desire to bring real change into the industry by introducing innovation ideas and offer better solutions into how events should be designed and executed. 

It has been stated that people are not always born natural entrepreneurs. These are skills that can be achieved through training. With this understanding in mind, I am convinced that this course is what I need to motivate me to my goals and aspirations in life. To gain hands- on-experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, I have occasionally volunteered to work with various companies particularly in events management. These opportunities have given me a direction to not only share my perspectives but also gain additional knowledge on how the market place operates. As , I am well positioned to approach my studies more seriously as I am aware of the challenges faced by organisations in my field of interest.
